Business card

There are 2 types of business cards that I just finished. The first one is a balance between black and white. The second one is simpler, I use a quote to make a emphasis for the name and status.

I notice that those feint round-edged squares are very popular with students but... what are they doing on your card. What function are they serving?

I really mean it when I say, "Don't put anything in a design that doesn't have a compelling reason for being there". This is especially true on a business card, where so much information needs to fit into a small space. Why crowd it up?

Your idea of putting "brackets" around the name and position of the card-bearer is rather odd. A bracket suggests a subordinate piece of information - is the name on the card not important? Because that is what the brackets suggest.
